“Dirty” Limericks re Donald Trump

Long before the news panel game show Wait Wait… Don’t Tell Me hit the NPR airwaves, I’ve been expressing my political / social commentary via the limerick. On this day, I’ve composed 10 such verses… believe they’ll amuse critical thinkers… and… if we’re lucky… might even enlighten those who may not know any better.

True… that latter state of mind would not describe the vast majority of those of us who typically hangout @WordPress… but… once any content hits the www… who the hell knows in what direction it may fly.

The limerick has long been associated with gross subject matter. And what could be grosser than Donald Trump and his hideous, grotesque run for the White House? That reprehensible, radical, racist Republican’s rabblerousing has been begging me to make rhyme or reason of that madman.

I had to try to understand why so many right tilted americans [sic] would even support such a political monstrosity… or in lieu of that… simply vent my indignation over how “The Donald” has been, singlehandedly, setting back (by hundreds of years) any and all previous progress towards racial and spiritual equality and harmony.

More to the point, my overwhelming need to wax poetic occurred after reading about and viewing the clip featuring Donald Trump’s interview on Morning Joe, where he had run down the clock / filibustered journalist Cokie Roberts’ too tough (for him) to answer, LEGITIMATE question. To blockquote that article’s lead paragraph:

Journalist Cokie Roberts confronted Donald Trump about the impact of his words on kids. She brought up incidents in schools nationwide where white children are telling minority classmates they’ll be deported and chanting “Build a wall!” to minority rivals. She then asked him, “Are you proud of that?” read whole article (and be sure to check out the comment section, too)

Trump’s tossed word salad / non-answer is absolutely unworthy of publication here… but suffice to say… he shamelessly, deliberately and disingenuously feigned ignorance over the vital issue Roberts had been raising…  and worse yet… with nary even the slightest hint of remorse over the childhood grief and sorrow his reckless campaign has been inflicting.

I admire Roberts for not backing down and getting in her justifiable journalistic licks… I mean… somebody has got to call out that foul, GOP SOB sometime! That all duly noted… it’s now my turn to get in my limerick licks.

At Trump rallies he vomits hate / rants,

Xenophobes puke back pro Don-Duke chants,

His base master race base,

All wears Wonder Bread face,

They’re the GOP’s white elephants!

No discouraging words are allowed,

From Trump protesters found in the crowd,

Don goads each supporter,

To beat up / give no quarter,

To shout down naysayers… decibels loud!

To define the Trump push back… full gist,

If you defy him, his mobs will get pissed,

The ‘tude of his minions,

All dissenting opinions,

Will be squelched with chokehold and clenched fist!

There now is a candidate Trump

Who loves to talk hate from the stump,

Dressed to the nines, yet uncouth,

Exhumes Dolf’s Hitler youth,

Trash like Trump belongs in city dump!

Young school kids frequent their playground haunt,

Trump’s hate speech is the ‘tude they flaunt,

At Muslim classmates they’ll snort,

Forewarn Trump will deport,

Instill fear, sneer, jeer, torment and taunt!

The pro-Trump voter is recalcitrant,

A gun nut, cross burner and miscreant,

He’s sycophantic and manic,

Never Muslim / Hispanic,

The GOP’s hardliner, white elephant!

At RNC, too few righties may rant,

“Our frontrunner is too arrogant!

Either make Trump stand down,

Or run Don out of town,

We have to curb our elephant!”

Will the RNC ever pay heed?

Understand Trump is the demon seed,

To be truthful, fully,

That bastard’s a bully,

The apex of hate, hubris, greed!

In muddy bigotry, chump Trump is mired,

Re his supporters, there’s no brain required,

If yahoos get their way,

On Election Day,

It’ll be far too late to shout, “YOU’RE FIRED!”

Trump’s hate speeches stir up the panic,

Of folks: Muslim, Jew, Black and Hispanic,

Though Don speaks the unthinkable,

That xenophobe ain’t unsinkable,

Clinton or Sanders could prove him Titanic!
