Nowadays… Stateside news cycles have been dominated by the terrifying reportage re the lawless misappropriation and squirreling away of America’s Top Secret documents; the prime. person of interest being a rogue (in title only) x-president; aka the avaricious, vindictive, narcissistic, hubristic, fascistic Donald J. Trump.
Ironically enough, throughout that ignoraNus’ (<— not a typo) tenure, he had demonstrated only a passing interest in such classified intelligence. So, why the sudden obsession now, eh?
Precisely 1 score and 1 year ago... worldwide news cycles had become dominated by the horrifying reportage of four hijacked commercial jets; three of the pilots’ kamikaze flight plans targeting and striking the WTC Twin Towers and Pentagon; the fourth mission thwarted when a throng of outraged passengers stormed the cockpit causing the plane to plow into a Pennsylvania field.
The massive death and destruction had all been (likely unwittingly) facilitated by the indefensible ineptitude, inattentiveness and indolence of a bygone (in title only) president, one George W. Bush; aka W. Oddly enough, that ignoraNus (<— again, not a typo) also had only a passing interest in top secret classified intelligence. But, soon after, he did con voters into believing his fake concern was genuine.
As most honest historians would remind, the hijackers’ “success” had partially hinged upon W’s failure; i.e., his tragic decision to, FIRST, pay no heed to his Oath of Office vow to preserve, protect and defend America; to, NEXT, also flip off his August 6, 2001 Presidential Daily Briefing; inclusive of the Top Secret (since officially declassified) document, ominously titled: Bin Ladin Determined To Strike in US.
That such stark words had utterly failed to motivate him to take action, STAT, resulted in W squandering five week’s worth of invaluable time to prepare for the worst.
Hell, even most elementary school-aged gamers could’ve readily figured out hijacking was that terrorist mastermind’s probable game plan. and, bare minimum, would’ve fully realized it was high time to heighten airport / airliner security.
Granted, in all fairness, perhaps nobody could’ve thwarted 9/11; but to have not even tried?
Instead, W got caught with his Commander-In-Chief whitey-tighties down; his political impotence likely horrifying his handlers more than the actual attacks, themselves. In damage control mode, they concocted a makeover to firm up his flaccid image. Yep, enter stage right, the (pseudo superhero) Commander Guy; the calling all the shots Codpiece sporting Caped Crusader hellbent on “smoking out” Osama.
At that juncture, W’s one-two (below the belt) punches had involved provoking two needless, no-win wars (Afghanistan and Iraq) and browbeating most Stateside sheeple into submission (via his signing into law, the human rights gutting, Un-Constitutional U.S. Patriot Act).
As civility devolved further, into frothing at the mouth, boneheaded jingoism W, VP Dick Chaney, Secretary of State Donald Rumsfeld, Torture Memo author John Yoo and a veritable rogue’s gallery of other Bush Administration sociopaths all seemed to get off on growing and sporting their War Criminal “horns” and “tails”; could barely contain their lust for indiscriminately inflicting pain, suffering and death.
Just about the only way anyone could possibly show any lenience towards genocide’s perpetrators and perpetuators and the torture chamber proprietors is if medical evaluations ever deemed them mentally ill.
As for the rest of ’em? Well…

Their winding up on trial at The Hague would be a fitting fate, too; for any honest analysis of George W Bush’s Afghanistan and Iraq Wars would expose the oceans of needlessly spilt red blood and red ink. Check out the particulars:
- W’s two wars slaughtered multiple thousands of soldiers
- Caused the deaths of up to 1 MILLION innocent civilians
- Laid waste to Iraq/Mesopotamia; the Cradle of Civilization
- Plundered the U.S. Treasury of 6.5+ TRILLION DOLLARS!
That last on the list item involves taxpayer and borrowed money that could’ve been far, Far, FAR better spent to promote the advancement / enhancement of the lives of our entire human family.
To wrap this up… just as George W. Bush’s own mindless mishandling of classified documents led to a catastrophic breach in national security (9/11), there’s the distinct potential for Donald J. Trump’s (mindless?) mishandling of classified documents to end up with EITHER a similar OR substantially worse outcome.
That the Mar-a-Lago Maniac may have willfully and/or inadvertently allowed America’s nuclear secrets to fall into ENEMY HANDS, does leave one sensing a palpable, nationwide / worldwide, creepy undercurrent; make for one helluva dark cloud / mushroom cloud hanging over our entire civilization.
I cannot help but worry that with little to no advance warning, there’ll be deadly and destructive real world and/or cyber attacks. And once the fallout eventually settles?
To paraphrase the late Carl Sagan…
Who, then, will speak for Earth?
It’s conceivable that the survival of the fittest principle would then kick in; determine who’ll be ruling over the roentgen riddled, redefined roost. Perhaps it’ll be the irradiated / mutated into sudden sentience cockroaches who may be predestined to become Planet Earth’s historians / spokesroaches?
