Watchfully Waiting

PREFACE: While what follows is far from a comprehensive appraisal, I am going on the premise that even an imperfect assessment, today, is still infinitely preferable to awaiting tomorrow’s more polished work. That said, here goes…

In the highly unlikely possibility that one or two of you might be wondering about my recent disappearance from this platform, it’s all been with good reason.

You see, I’ve been laying low while contemplating the feasibility of my WP future. After all, the wisdom of continuing to blog from the liberal / progressive point of view is highly questionable when, ideologically speaking, the road “ahead” foreshadows an increasingly insufferable, apparently irreparable, chronically chaotic. hardcore right wing dystopia.

While I still harbor the belief that the vast majority of humanity is honorable, within our (allegedly) representative government nations, does majority rule even rule anymore?

`

In far too many instances, inveterate propaganda ministers have been whipping good people into exhaustion, apathy, silence and submission; into no questions asked / permitted acceptance of wretched, fetid (alleged) leadership.

And, re such stench, once folks have been conditioned into nose blindness, that makes the long overdue, desperately needed, ballot box deodorization process difficult, if not IMPOSSIBLE (especially when / where the odious powers-that-be have also resorted to suppression of fair, free elections).

How IMPOSSIBLE?

Well, with ever increasing frequency, (especially Stateside,) unscrupulous, arrogant, snot-nosed, incumbents and wannabes (whom the voters have justifiably denied the reins of power), have been throwing temper (Trumper) tantrums; so severe that they’ll make unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud and NEVER accept their undeniable ballot box defeats.

At that juncture, we can expect matters to deteriorate rapidly and rabidly. I’m sure I needn’t remind anyone of how turncoat Donald J. Trump and his private army of domestic terrorists attempted their brazen, grotesque, deadly, destructive, January 6th coup d’état at the U.S. Capitol.

Since such subversives have been left unchecked by Democrats, history is likely to repeat itself. As such, once the November 2022 ballots get tallied, any victors (who do not identify as MAGA) can expect to be wrongfully challenged and, in the end / THE END, even wind up flat-out denied their legitimately earned political power. In other words…

Avarice, ignorance and decadence driven MAGA minority rule will rule; where the hard work of saving our human family / our troubled world will NEVER get done.

While matters do appear glum, I’ll remind all American ballot casters (of good character) to keep the good thought that appearances can be deceiving. And more to the point…

Voter suppression can be overcome by monumental voter turnout. En masse, our cast ballots can preserve, protect and defend our Founding Fathers’ vision for us; our posterity.

And so, here I am; anxiously, watchfully waiting the outcome of the November 8th midterm elections; knowing fully well that we’re now confronted by this do or die moment in human history.

IF maniacal and moronic MAGA Republicans wind up taking out both the U.S. House and Senate, we might soon be waving good-bye to both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris; if not impeached and ousted next year, they’ll both become lame ducks for the next two years.

It’s High Time To Vote!

Seeing how…

• President Biden has freed folks imprisoned for mere pot possession

That leaves us with these key questions:

• Will the cannabis connoisseurs’ celebratory clouds clear away in time?

Be We, the U.S. citizens, voting via either absentee ballot or in person, the deadline for submitting our completed ballots is Tuesday, November 8th. What’s crucial, here / now, is our correctly assessing each candidate’s temperament and intentions.

The Definition of Political Characters:

Lest We ever forget, the two-pronged goal of most Republican candidates (in particular, the peculiar Trumpian tools), is the amassment of untold power and accumulation of incalculable filthy lucre; none of which shall ever be used for constructive purposes; e.g. working towards the prevention… correction… working towards the mitigation of catastrophic environmental collapse. For, indeed, it’s already too late to totally prevent this from going down.

And tho 2022’s Democratic candidates, by and large, frequently fall short of what we do expect… correction… must demand of our leaders, for the time being, they’re all we’ve got left; and as such, they must emerge victorious.

Here’s why…

Post 2022’s Election Day: IF Trumper Republicans manage to TAKE OUT both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, for the next two years, bare minimum, Biden can count on his vetoing pens constantly running out of ink.

Even worse… Joe’s foes are already chomping at the bit to trump up charges against him; to hand him his political ass on a platter; to boot his butt out the White House rear door (and they’ll likely ditto this impeachment / removal process re VP Kamala Harris, too); such unnecessary, unjustifiable ousters all downward spiraling to…

Post 2024’s Election Day: The above-mentioned machinations will facilitate Donald J. Trump’s re-entrance (from stage far, Far, FAR RIGHT) into the world’s spotlight. And once he TAKES OUT the White House, again, whatever is left of America will rapidly degenerate into HIS intolerable theocratic, fascistic régime.

Post (Future) Election Days: HUH? What Election Days? Seeing how Trump had flat-out refused to accept that We the People of the United States of America had, rightfully so, handed him his sorry ass, we can assume that he’ll never, ever accept the U.S. Constitution’s two presidential terms and out stipulation.

Even worse… It’d be Trump’s own MAGA minions’ domination of the U.S. House, Senate and Supreme Court, that, in THE END. would crown him an irremovable tyrant; allow him to oppress the masses even once his throne eventually morphs into his death bed. And even then,, we could not totally escape that ass’s asphyxiating chokehold; i.e., seeing how, by then, he’d have bastardized the presidential line of succession; thereby empowering his bloodline, exclusively.

Such a sucky outcome would render the key question:

Sans a freedom-based America, how long will our global family be able to thrive, let alone survive?

The utterly unlikable answer:

Once Trump copycats, worldwide, hold up MAGA america [sic] as their paradigm EITHER their myopic politics / economics OR Climate Change catastrophes will lay waste to their homelands (whichever disaster overcomes humanity first).

Why / how is it that Donald J. Trump has apparently been granted carte blanche to break every last law on the books; inclusive of [1] staging his violent and deadly (potentially) democracy ending coup and [2] squirreling away classified documents that, in all likelihood, have already severely compromised / crippled national security?

Worse yet…

Why / how is it that he NEVER, EVER is held accountable for his actions and NEVER, EVER punished accordingly?

Worst of all…

Why / how is it that we are always forced to endure his insufferable gloating re his constantly getting off scot-free; all of which can only enrapture him; make him feel exonerated, exhilarated and emboldened; enough to unleash further deadly and destructive mayhem; all designed to obliterate whatever vestiges of civil society that may still remain; cancel the very decency which he detests with every cubic meter / ounce of deoxyribonucleic acid sloshing within his accursed carcass.

So, what the hell fuels his fantasies of invincibility?

• Obviously, Trump has, at his beck and call, his private army of Anti-American anarchists / nihilists; a veritable goon squad consisting of seething, bloodthirsty, armed to the teeth, trigger happy Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, White Nationalists, Klansmen and Nazis. At the drop of a MAGA hat, no questions ever asked / allowed, they are ready, willing and able to rampage, nationwide; stage / wage their take no prisoners, burn down America / Democracy war; violent attacks equal to or worse than his attempted, (fortunately failed), January 6th coup.

Beyond that we can only speculate re what floats Trump’s boat.

• Perhaps he has thunk up fake filth and/or has dug up real dirt; enough to blackmail all of his inquisitors / accusers; intimidate them into trembling, whimpering, cowering, tip-toeing on eggshells impotence?
• Maybe his role-model, psychopath Vladimir Putin, has helped him hone his preexisting thuggish skills; taught him how to weaponize all of his thinly veiled threats of violence against his perceived enemies and their loved ones. His goon squads (as detailed above) would be all to happy to maim and murder anyone on his behalf.
• Perchance that terrorist’s fallback plan is to issue his ultimatum; e.g., unless the DOJ, FBI and all other law enforcement agencies, nationwide, all agree to stand down, forever; he’ll auction off to the highest bidders (aka America’s worst enemies) copies of the classified documents (which he expropriated); all of which could escalate to the mushroom clouded suffocation and extinction of humanity…

Uh… save for the sole survivor; the one and only, soulless DJT.

At that juncture, upon his crawling, like some slimy slug, out from the bowels of the Earth (the home of his golden, all frills, bomb shelter), at long last, he’d become…

• Recipient of the just deserts he deserves the most
• Beneficiary of poetic justice at its very, very finest
• Eyewitness to the all-time greatest, gotcha moment

Fleshing that out…

While, initially, he’d rejoice in being cast in the role of “Last Man on Earth”, it’d be his lifelong dual role of Malignant Narcissist and Praise Junkie, that’d trigger his horrifying, sudden realization; namely, there would be nobody left to dispense his fix of hourly, utterly undeserved accolades.

And to a pathetic creature, such as Donald J. Trump, that’d be the brand of retribution that’d devastate him; even far worse than Armageddon’s radiation, itself.

In a previous post… whilst speculating about Donald J. Trump’s motivation for squirreling away classified documents within his gaudy, golden digs (aka his unsecured, Mar-a-Lago, moat-less castle), the most logical conclusion turned out to be his insatiable greed.

ASIDE #1: Seeing how the bigoted, deplorable Dumb Donald (in the role of acting prez), had once spitballed the insane notion of dredging a moat all along the U.S. / Mexico border and, worse yet, stocking it with ravenous, razor toothed alligators and slithering, sharp fanged, venomous snakes; all fully capable of maiming / slaughtering any asylum seekers… well… one would’ve expected him to secure his own manor’s border in that manner; especially since he must’ve been aware of ex-FBI-er Peter Strzok fingering Mar-a-Lago as a foreign spy magnet; seeing how Chinese spy, Yujing Zhang, had actually, quite easily breached that very estate.

So… ahem… need anyone say anything more? Uh, make that a yes; do check out a few more details to my believable, Trump-sells-out America theory…

For instance, it’d be absolutely in character, were we to witness him auctioning off uber-sensitive state secrets to his highest bidders (aka his best buddies and America’s sworn enemies). In the end, he would not only wind up cashing in, avariciously, but also lashing out, revoltingly, against America’s 18th century Founding Fathers and the slew of 21st century investigators taking a look-see into his shady shenanigans, all of whom he detests deep down to his (allegedly) human DNA.

We’re speaking of investigators, such as the FBI’s Director (Trump’s own appointee) Christopher A. Wray and the Department of Justice’s Attorney General Merrick Garland. And lest we forget, Donny is also harboring a ferocious grudge against the [1] U.S. House Select Committee’s members (inclusive of two Republicans) who’ve been exposing every aspect of his nefarious January 6th attempted coup, [2] U.S. Congresspersons who had impeached him (twice), and [3] each and every American (I among them) who had wisely voted against him (both in 2016 and 2020).

In today’s post… whilst speculating, anew, I did come up with, yet, another scenario; how Trump could also, quite easily, further (ab)use these ill-gotten classified documents as LEVERAGE; playing these documents not unlike stay out of jail trump cards; his way, at least within his own (alleged) mind, of ensuring that, up till the very day he takes his final, Hell-ward bound, downward escalator ride, he’ll never, ever face down his long overdue, Earthly comeuppance.

ASIDE #2: Sadly, we could take little comfort, even were the FBI and National Archives to report they’ve retrieved and re-secured all of the missing top secret materials. Such a dubious claim would not preclude the all too real possibility that Trump would’ve had plenty of time to make photocopies and secrete them at… well… for now… only Donny and God know where.

ASIDE #3: Naturally, IF that “where” is where the sun don’t shine, it’d behoove the Feds to order up a colonoscopy. And, based upon Donny’s fondness for “burying” documents “at sea”, the FBI ringing up Roto-Rooter to ream out Mar-a-Lago’s sewer pipes, wouldn’t be a bad idea, either.

So, just how might that Trumpian LEVERAGE go down?

Well, suppose that one or more of these Top Secret documents would totally expose an American Achilles heel; instantaneously render the entire homeland vulnerable to full blown, nuclear attacks?

One could easily envision the temper tantrum throwing, retired fake prez, in full blown, male Karen mode; engaging in a ranting and raving stand-off with the Feds; his bullhorn mashed up to his (sink ships) loose lips, bleating out his terrorist demands.

Now, WHAT IF the one and only way to stop him from publicly revealing such vulnerabilities / avoid such a global holocaust, would be for the Feds to cave into the following, utterly unreasonable and insane, lemme-do-whatever-I-GD-please-or-else Trumpian terms / ultimatum…

You guys have absolutely no other choice but to…

• forfeit/fork over all of Fort Knox’s gold to me,
• reinstall me as a non-term limited president
• cancel all future fed, state and local elections,
• establish, in their stead, my Trumpian dynasty,
• round up / lock up each and every Democrat
• deport or execute all of the people I hate*

Suffice to say, ever since has-been Trump took his downward escalator ride, he has been doing his damnedest to take down America / the entire world. Suppose, in the not too distant future, Trump convenes one of his train wreck rallies where (in the midst of one of his lose-his-train-of-thought, rambling, utterly worthless, screechy speeches) he abruptly halts and barks out the command, “ATTACK!”

At that point, his armed to the teeth goon squad storms into the arena; roughs up, rounds up and marches out fifty percent of the attendees. When his speech resumes, DJT simply informs the remainees that, come sundown (local time), he will order his detainees’ mass execution.

So… How Would the Remainees React?

Sans even two critical thinking brain cells to rub together (and nary a tear shed for their detained, soon to be needlessly slaughtered / dead families and friends), each of his drones would have no choice but to conclude, “Oh well… he must’ve had a pretty damned good reason!” At that point each of them would, FIRST, cut Trump a give-till-it-hurts campaign contribution check and, NEXT, on cue, commence to bleating out…

Subtitle: Resistance is Futile?

Perhaps you rarely, if ever, venture anywhere near the strange new worlds found within the Star Trek multiverse? If so, that’d place you amongst the few who’ve yet to view the The Best of Both Worlds; screenplay writer Michael Piller’s season three and four, two parter; still ranked by many fans as that franchise’s greatest story ever told.

To bring any non-Trekkers up to warp speed, a Wikipedia essay will both provide the storyline and “flesh” out who (what) the Borg are. By the by, I’m labeling this link SPOILER ALERT (my last-ditch caveat to anyone who might now be considering a first time viewing).

Of course, one needn’t be a Sci-Fi fan to know that Star Trek storytellers are renown for utilizing their futuristic narratives to draw parallels; to exquisitely expose / cast aspersions on the perpetrators / perpetuators of present day, indefensible, malignant societal scourges.

And, speaking of scourges, aka PTD’s (Politically Transmitted Diseases), let’s check out a few similarities to deplorable un-American present day, realities; namely…

How Donald J. Trump bears a striking resemblance to the Borg Queen.

Both entities are autocratic head cases. Externally they have folically challenged scalps and, internally, boast mucked up / scrambled brains. Worse yet, they command massive, ever-growing legions of cultists / drones; all hellbent on assimilating / enslaving each and every free spirit they encounter. In the end, all that’s left is their human wreckage; a retrograde society built, solely, upon the dismal, rickety foundation of mandatory, “resistance is futile”, no questions asked / allowed, mindless compliance.

Suffice to say, with heavy heart, I can apply such scenes to America’s glum 2024 “future”; predict that the never punished Donald J. Trump will run for his second term; where win or lose, humanity loses.

In other words… where Borg Queen Donny…

• In defeat, will order his “human” drones to burn down America
• In victory, will deploy his Space Force army to attack America

Whatever the 2024 outcome, freedom lover Tom CANNOT and ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT live like that; all of which not only succinctly sums up my resolve… correction… my flat-out defiance of all things Trump… but could also, easily, become my own epitaph.

Indeed, once the rolled out Trumpian tanks near my hometown’s city limits; the very nanosecond that rumbling racket is within my earshot, that’d mean there’d be no hope left. At that juncture, futilely so, I’d block their path; i.e., lie right smack dab in the middle of Michigan Avenue; double daring that lead tank commander asshole to smash my atoms into the asphalt.

Call that my own William Riker Moment, too, for, obviously, my one, soon-to-be corpse could no more halt a tank than an Enterprise D head-on crash could ever halt a Borg Cube.

The only good part of such scenarios? Be screenplays Sci-Fi or Real Life, the well written ones can and oft do offer up unexpected plot twists; in the political context, that could be courtesy of a willy-nilly patchwork of Republicans who, for fleeting moments, might manage to muster the facade of decency, heroism and patriotism.

After all, on January 6 and 7, 2021, Vice President Mike Pence did flat-out defy Borg Queen Donald J. Trump; flip off his tyrant boss’s orders to unconstitutionally install him and demolish American Democracy; in essence proving…
