Clearly, early voting is still ongoing all across America. What isn’t so clear is IF our electorate has been actually seeing the Big Picture.

That’s because, typically, we do vote our own pocketbooks and, needless to say, there hasn’t been much to be happy about. As is true with most of my average American compatriots, inflation has been hemorrhaging my own limited assets.

Nonetheless… I will NEITHER be blaming Democrats for a mucked up economic mess created and exacerbated by corporate price gouging, broken supply chain issues and ignoranus (<– not a typo) Vladimir Putin’s Ukraine war; NOR will I be punishing said Democrats by voting in MAGA Republicans whose ONE AND ONLY solution to economic woes is heaping on even more economic woes; typically by lavishing utterly undeserved tax breaks upon the wealthiest of the wealthy.

Need I even remind… The upward redistribution of wealth has never improved the lives of commoners (I among them).

Worse yet, there’s a dangerous and disastrous flip side to these MAGA maggots’ greed; namely, their aiding and abetting Donald J. Trump’s ongoing conspiracy; i.e., his plot to usurp power (come January 20, 2025), cling to it till his last day on Earth and, in turn, forever burn down Democracy.

Flipping off / filling in the particulars… This election year, there are nearly 300 candidates, nationwide, who’ve been totally suckered into Donald J. Trump “2020 Election Fraud” Big Lie. IF (more like WHEN) empowered (especially the state level Secretaries of State), they will be hellbent on mucking up all future elections and, as such, they’ll easily devolve America into a Fascist Dictatorship. And in saying “mucking up”, I mean they’ll be disenfranchising voters by shredding their legitimately cast ballots.

The obvious solution is for every true American to deny them that power; to non-violently trump Trump as well as every last one of his Fascistic Freaks / MAGA Minions.

We MUST preserve, protect and defend American FREEDOM by voting in Democrats up and down the entire ballot. I’ll be HAND DELIVERING my own, completed absentee ballot to my local election officials before 8 p.m. tomorrow / Election Day.

I do fully understand that any plan to hire / rehire Democrats is, at best, an imperfect solution because, far too oft, they lack the spine to do the work we send them to DC to do; and even if they do the work, they’re poor at messaging their accomplishments to their constituents.

However, I also recognize that when confronted by our two party ONLY system, that necessitates our always voting for the lesser of two evils.

And, to be clear here, WTF could be more evil than Trump and his yes-men / henchmen insurrectionists?

Stated in a more practical vein… We the People will have a far better chance of on-the-job training Democrats to (eventually) see things more clearly (act more progressively and courageously) THAN attempting to oust autocratic MAGA Republicans; renown for whipping their collective middle finger at our Founding Fathers’ precepts of Democracy; to e.g. just one, their Constitutionally established, orderly. peaceful transition of power.

Beyond that… Every qualified, clear thinking voter must cast their ballot prior to the polls closing tomorrow evening, November 8th. America’s very survival does hang in the balance…

Watchfully Waiting

PREFACE: While what follows is far from a comprehensive appraisal, I am going on the premise that even an imperfect assessment, today, is still infinitely preferable to awaiting tomorrow’s more polished work. That said, here goes…

In the highly unlikely possibility that one or two of you might be wondering about my recent disappearance from this platform, it’s all been with good reason.

You see, I’ve been laying low while contemplating the feasibility of my WP future. After all, the wisdom of continuing to blog from the liberal / progressive point of view is highly questionable when, ideologically speaking, the road “ahead” foreshadows an increasingly insufferable, apparently irreparable, chronically chaotic. hardcore right wing dystopia.

While I still harbor the belief that the vast majority of humanity is honorable, within our (allegedly) representative government nations, does majority rule even rule anymore?

`

In far too many instances, inveterate propaganda ministers have been whipping good people into exhaustion, apathy, silence and submission; into no questions asked / permitted acceptance of wretched, fetid (alleged) leadership.

And, re such stench, once folks have been conditioned into nose blindness, that makes the long overdue, desperately needed, ballot box deodorization process difficult, if not IMPOSSIBLE (especially when / where the odious powers-that-be have also resorted to suppression of fair, free elections).

How IMPOSSIBLE?

Well, with ever increasing frequency, (especially Stateside,) unscrupulous, arrogant, snot-nosed, incumbents and wannabes (whom the voters have justifiably denied the reins of power), have been throwing temper (Trumper) tantrums; so severe that they’ll make unfounded claims of widespread voter fraud and NEVER accept their undeniable ballot box defeats.

At that juncture, we can expect matters to deteriorate rapidly and rabidly. I’m sure I needn’t remind anyone of how turncoat Donald J. Trump and his private army of domestic terrorists attempted their brazen, grotesque, deadly, destructive, January 6th coup d’état at the U.S. Capitol.

Since such subversives have been left unchecked by Democrats, history is likely to repeat itself. As such, once the November 2022 ballots get tallied, any victors (who do not identify as MAGA) can expect to be wrongfully challenged and, in the end / THE END, even wind up flat-out denied their legitimately earned political power. In other words…

Avarice, ignorance and decadence driven MAGA minority rule will rule; where the hard work of saving our human family / our troubled world will NEVER get done.

While matters do appear glum, I’ll remind all American ballot casters (of good character) to keep the good thought that appearances can be deceiving. And more to the point…

And so, here I am; anxiously, watchfully waiting the outcome of the November 8th midterm elections; knowing fully well that we’re now confronted by this do or die moment in human history.

IF maniacal and moronic MAGA Republicans wind up taking out both the U.S. House and Senate, we might soon be waving good-bye to both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris; if not impeached and ousted next year, they’ll both become lame ducks for the next two years.

It’s High Time To Vote!

Seeing how…

• President Biden has freed folks imprisoned for mere pot possession
• The Stateside 2022 midterm elections are now one mere month off…

That leaves us with these key questions:

• Will the cannabis connoisseurs’ celebratory clouds clear away in time?
• At least long enough for this clique to cast their appreciative ballots?
• More to the point, will they even remember that it’s high time to vote?

In the balance is how Planet Earth and Democracy could go up in smoke!

Be We, the U.S. citizens, voting via either absentee ballot or in person, the deadline for submitting our completed ballots is Tuesday, November 8th. What’s crucial, here / now, is our correctly assessing each candidate’s temperament and intentions.

The Definition of Political Characters:

Lest We ever forget, the two-pronged goal of most Republican candidates (in particular, the peculiar Trumpian tools), is the amassment of untold power and accumulation of incalculable filthy lucre; none of which shall ever be used for constructive purposes; e.g. working towards the prevention… correction… working towards the mitigation of catastrophic environmental collapse. For, indeed, it’s already too late to totally prevent this from going down.

And tho 2022’s Democratic candidates, by and large, frequently fall short of what we do expect… correction… must demand of our leaders, for the time being, they’re all we’ve got left; and as such, they must emerge victorious.

Here’s why…

Post 2022’s Election Day: IF Trumper Republicans manage to TAKE OUT both the U.S. House of Representatives and U.S. Senate, for the next two years, bare minimum, Biden can count on his vetoing pens constantly running out of ink.

Even worse… Joe’s foes are already chomping at the bit to trump up charges against him; to hand him his political ass on a platter; to boot his butt out the White House rear door (and they’ll likely ditto this impeachment / removal process re VP Kamala Harris, too); such unnecessary, unjustifiable ousters all downward spiraling to…

Post 2024’s Election Day: The above-mentioned machinations will facilitate Donald J. Trump’s re-entrance (from stage far, Far, FAR RIGHT) into the world’s spotlight. And once he TAKES OUT the White House, again, whatever is left of America will rapidly degenerate into HIS intolerable theocratic, fascistic régime.

Post (Future) Election Days: HUH? What Election Days? Seeing how Trump had flat-out refused to accept that We the People of the United States of America had, rightfully so, handed him his sorry ass, we can assume that he’ll never, ever accept the U.S. Constitution’s two presidential terms and out stipulation.

Even worse… It’d be Trump’s own MAGA minions’ domination of the U.S. House, Senate and Supreme Court, that, in THE END. would crown him an irremovable tyrant; allow him to oppress the masses even once his throne eventually morphs into his death bed. And even then,, we could not totally escape that ass’s asphyxiating chokehold; i.e., seeing how, by then, he’d have bastardized the presidential line of succession; thereby empowering his bloodline, exclusively.

Such a sucky outcome would render the key question:

Sans a freedom-based America, how long will our global family be able to thrive, let alone survive?

The utterly unlikable answer:

Once Trump copycats, worldwide, hold up MAGA america [sic] as their paradigm EITHER their myopic politics / economics OR Climate Change catastrophes will lay waste to their homelands (whichever disaster overcomes humanity first).

According to Attorney General Merrick Garland, the whole point of this past week’s FBI raid of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago digs was to recover box loads of highly classified, ultra-sensitive and totally unguarded, nuclear related documents. Repeat…

UNGUARDED NUCLEAR DOCUMENTS!

Check out this “hmm moment”. Might Trump’s possession of such top secret materials tap into his avaricious, vengeance based, anything-for-a-fast-buck intent to sell out America to his evil playmates / boy toys Vladimir Putin, Kim Jong-un, et al?

Most assuredly, such a plot would be totally consistent to Trump’s MO. Lest we forget, he did order his MAGA minions to storm the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021; did attempt to overturn the 2020 elections, burn down democracy and wear out the White House welcome mat.

If the above mentioned investigators are truly dead serious about staving off the death of America, at the very least, via the U.S. Constitution’s 14th Amendment, Trump must be permanently barred from seeking / attaining elective office. It would not be a bad idea to forever forbid him from ever heading up any corporation, too. And to be on the safe side…

Denying such corrupt entities their evil endeavors would make for quite the study of character (or lack there of). What’s far more worrisome are the rabidly partisan global, national, state and local characters, who I typically blog about; they who possess (are possessed by) notions best described as nasty and/or nutty.

Let’s mull over these misanthropes and the milieus they mill about.

We’re speaking, by and large, of the psychotic and/or cretinous miscreant males; from Vladimir Putin all the way down to the local Joe Blows, who, immediately after prematurely fleeing pandemic lockdown, have come to the conclusion that it’s time to partay; i.e., it’s high time to lock and load and hit the streets ISO innocents; to terrorize society by indiscriminately opening fire; all for the express purpose of painting their towns red… blood red.

As if what?

• The 6.5 MILLION (so far) known Covid-19 Deaths aren’t already bad enough?
• Global Warming’s death toll (due to freakish storms) isn’t rising fast enough?

And what of the Death of Democracy? Especially within lands, such as the U.S., where, once upon a time, it was thought that such an odious outcome could never happen in a zillion years. Yet, at present, some estimates claim that 1 out of every 2 stateside residents still feel fealty for that Anti-America, fascist bastard, Donald J. Trump; still fail to condemn him for his January 6, 2021 attempted, deadly and destructive coup.

I have first hand witnessed this horrifying state of mindlessness. Not too long ago, a telephone pollster / panhandler asked me what I thought of Trump and even tho I called him out as a TRAITOR TO AMERICA (in an angry tone of voice, no less), she still tried to hit me up for a “campaign” contribution. Needless to say, I was deeply offended that she’d ever consider me to be as imbecilic and sycophantic as she.

Let’s keep it real, re the January 6th storming of the U.S. Capitol. Moron DJT and his mindless minions all have red, bloodstained hands. Yet, instead of, bare minimum, their facing down trial, conviction and winding up locked up (as in throw away the key magnitude imprisonment), they still remain at large / free…

Free to stupidly and/or dementedly plot to do it again and Again and AGAIN… until they prevail.

Look, I’m not being an unreasonable, uncompassionate man, here. If any of them are diagnosed as mentally ill, it’d be perfectly OK to institutionalize, not imprison them till they can ascend to sanity; as well as gain a better sense of what the real America is all about.

Five Points of No Return?

PREFACE: It’s not just mindless flag waving when my words stress the significance of America’s role on the world stage. I merely mention it because the collapse of any Democracy can only destabilize, perhaps even destroy, said world.

The commonly held belief is that we humans tend to obsess over worst case scenarios that rarely, if ever, actually reach the absolute point of no return. Let’s keep a good thought that such wisdom is fully applicable to the following (worst of the worst) situations. In a sense, these could all, someday soon, easily, wind up as news headlines…

• Failure to promptly curb climate change to hasten humanity’s extinction
• Russia’s backfired Ukraine occupation triggers nuclear WW-III escalation
• Coronavirus whack-a-mole variants flat-out defy containment/eradication
• Americans’ incivility/hyperpartisanship spurs Civil War-II factionalization
• Fascism/Theocracy trumps Democracy/Liberty; spawns U.S.A. obliteration

Regarding that last on the list item… I’d like to point out that, in the weeks prior to Donald J. Trump’s January 6th, barked out, storm the U.S. Capitol command to his MAGA maniacs, it’d been the most unlikely person within Trump’s entire retrograde / renegade régime, one Vice President Mike Pence, who, for a fleeting moment, had managed to un-sell his soul. Indeed, when push had come to shove, for perhaps the very first time in that Republican miscreant’s entire deplorable political career, he had opted to do the honorable thing; i.e., certify then President-Elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College victory; i.e., gallantly come to Lady Liberty’s rescue.

Alas (Part 1): Seeing how the still seething with fury, vengeance seeking, big lie promoter, little snowflake Trump has yet to get his 14th Amendment stipulated comeuppance, and in all likelihood NEVER will, it’s still totally legal for him to seek reelection as early as 2024.

And, win or lose, that insurrectionist bastard could still do his damnedest to suffocate American freedom / burn down Democracy. He still has his entire entourage of low friends in high places (U.S. “legislators” / SCOTUS “justices”) and low friends in low places (his sycophantic Klansmen / Nazis / Proud Boys / media propagandists et al), who ALL have his six.

SIDEBAR: To flesh out the 14th Amendment, in essence, any elected official found guilty of fomenting insurrection against the United States of America shall forever be banned from ever, again, seeking high elective office.

Alas (Part 2): Seeing how Trump has already totally nixed the notion of Pence ever, again, being his running mate, his next VP choice will, little doubt, be someone certifiable / bat crap crazy; the sort of creature who’d slither out from under his/her rock and, no questions asked, hiss out “YESSIR!” and or rattle out, “ON IT!” to whatever that orange, fascistic freak commanded.

Let’s keep a good thought… that there’s still a goodly amount of good people, who can be counted on to know when they must say NO to malefactors (especially of the Trumpian variety).

Nobody’s Home

`

On this same old, same old day, let’s kick things off by discussing a well-known author’s work of spooky fiction.

On an overbooked, American Pride Airlines, non-stop, LA to Boston, red-eye flight, ten snoozing travelers have a rude awakening; namely, 100+ passengers, along with the flight attendants, have all vanished into thin air. Amongst the remaining are the young blind girl, public school teacher, stoner chick, violinist prodigy, mystery novelist, blue collar worker, narcoleptic businessman, high-strung high financier, sinister mercenary, and (fortuitously) a deadheading it homeward American Pride pilot.

Upon muscling open the cockpit door, to everyone’s horror, they discover the entire flight crew has also disappeared. Things go from bad to worse when their substitute pilot’s repeated, increasingly heated, radioed Mayday declarations fail to get any air traffic controller response, at all. Upon diverting for a landing at the less traveled, Bangor International Airport, the plot thickens further; due to the terminal being little more than a nobody’s home, ghost town.

Those two paragraphs, above, synopsize one of Stephen King’s most fertile, flights of fancy; be his literary masterpiece printed out on the pages of his collection of novellas, titled Four Past Midnight, or played out in the made for TV, three-hour film, The Langoliers.

I’m rehashing this plot, for, no matter how many times I experience it, “anew”, this never fails to inculcate creepy feelings, right down to the very core of my being; REGRETTABLY, NOT UNLIKE how I feel each and every time I mask-up and force myself to re-enter my homeland’s creepy society; the very one dominated by the triple threat posed by impending climate collapse, relentlessly mutating coronavirus variants and sycophantic MAGA maniac insurrectionists.

Factoring in how few Democrats have the “stones” to (figuratively) peg any problem solving stones at any of these life threatening issues… well… I hafta say…

In spite of a populace of 7.9 billion, globally, and 330 million, Stateside, I cannot help but feel like I’ve been holing up within a godforsaken, gawd awful worldwide / nationwide ghost town; where, obviously, nobody’s home.

Granted, there are still plenty of us well-intentioned people, but, seeing how we’re not making any significant headway, anyway… well… nobody’s home still applies.

And tho my closing Q will only resonate with folks familiar with the above literary work, I’ve gotta ask this anyway…

Where the hell are King’s ferocious, growling, flying all over Creation, swooping down, razor sharp toothed Langoliers when we really need ‘em for a much needed, long overdue clean up of our mucked up society?
