Civil Rights Activist, Pacifist and Humanitarian Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., born on January 15, 1929, might’ve even been alive today, at the age of 93, had an assassin not gunned him down.
While, here in America, his birthday is observed as a Monday Federal Holiday, just how much does our contemporary populace, as a whole, truly honor him? Let’s narrow this down to the narrow minded…
- Not politicians who prop-up the Senate’s Jim Crow era Filibuster.
- Not governors who gerrymander/enact voter suppression (f)laws.
- Not beat cops, who racially profile; unleash brutality/deadly force.
- Not vigilantes, aka plainclothes Klansmen, who live / lust to lynch.
- Not real estate agents whose #1 goal is whites-only neighborhoods.
- Not employers who maintain non-level workplace, “playing fields”.
- Not history revisionists who whitewash/sanitize filthy racist deeds.
- Not the untold traffickers of Systemic Racism, as described HERE.
Alas, so much of MLK’s work has yet to be done.
Unless, until, the vast majority, spanning our entire society, can embrace all, which this great man had stood for, Black Lives will Matter only to those of us who had had his back all along.
Throughout Martin Luther King Jr’s far, Far, FAR too brief journey, here on Earth.
