Dirty Harry’s Holocaust

Something I’ll never be able to fathom is how the post-Hiroshima, Harry S. Truman could see the death and destruction he had inflicted upon humanity and, yet, rage onward into Nagasaki… how the post Nagasaki Truman might’ve even said to himself, “What a good little boy am I!”

Only a sociopathic flesh peddler would ever have the audacity to rationalize that the wholesale slaughter of 90,000–146,000 souls in Hiroshima (08/06/1945) AND 39,000–80,000 souls in Nagasaki (08/09/1945) was somehow, someway justifiable???

True… technically speaking… Truman’s WMD had prevented Hitler from developing / detonating his own nuclear WMD. But, it’s impossible to see much difference between these two sickos when neither of them had any qualms about frying humanity.

Little doubt, delusional Harry believed he was nuking on behalf of a noble cause. But would not delusional ‘Dolf have believed the same thing? To fight nukes with nukes to save the world? It’d be a hard sell to convince the hapless, helpless “survivors” that such a madman ruled world is even worth saving.

True… technically speaking… in the wake of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, WW-II did come to an end. But, did it REALLY end? Did anyone ever ACTUALLY win? Once the radioactive dust had settled we were… still are… left with only one, inescapable truth.

Truman’s Two Nukes Did Not Make One Right!

All that micro-brained “prez” had truly accomplished was the establishment of “mushroom envy” amongst the other micro-brained world “leaders” of that era… and every other era ever since. He ushered in a never-ending, global, nuclear arms race, which even now… especially now… the current, micro-brained, “prez” taps into, revels in and escalates (one Tweet / one soundbite at a time).

If/when we, the 21st century nuclear pawns, experience Dirty Donny’s nuclear war, it’d be a misnomer to call it WW-III. In reality, it’d be the resumption Dirty Harry’s 1945 nuclear holocaust.

It’s not too late to put Harry S. Truman, on trial for his crimes against humanity and (posthumously) bring him to justice.

226,000 Slaughtered Souls ~ 1 Quick Limerick #060 & #061

In nuking Hiroshima, Truman sure blew it,
The ghastly apocalypse sketch, he sure drew it,
Despite known death toll, pain and grief,
That calloused Commander-In-Chief,
Nuked Nagasaki, too! Why did he do it?

Said Englishman Alex Pope, “To err is human,”
(But) “to forgive, divine” (can be) undue, man,
Harry’s nuke revolution,
Warrants NO absolution,
Alda’s Pierce said it best, “To err is Truman!”

Yeah… I know… in posting 2 limericks instead of 1, I’ve (once again) strayed (slightly) from my above headlined premise / promise. But think of it this way… the monumentally wrong Harry S. Truman, who bombed out 2 times in 1945 (August 6th and 9th), could never be adequately dealt with in just 1 poem.

Re my 2nd quotation filled limerick… I thank both the centuries ago writer/poet Alexander Pope and the decades ago MASH teleplay writers for their inspiration. As for that specific “To err is Truman” line, these words had been quipped by actor Alan Alda’s character, Capt. Benjamin Franklin Pierce, M.D.

Is it wrong to call out the hypocrisy?

Yesterday was Memorial Day… a solemn holiday to honor U.S. soldiers who… from the earliest moments in American History… have made the ultimate sacrifice in battles to secure freedom for their compatriots… to liberate oppressed peoples here and abroad. We, who have been the beneficiaries of their heroism and selflessness, must, forever, feel indebted to them… I know those are my heartfelt sentiments.

So, why am I one day late in stating them?

My silence was out of respect to these heroes. My sense of decorum would not allow me to go anywhere near the Memorial Day spotlight which… after all… had to only shine upon them. Additionally my sensibilities would not permit me to politicize their day.

But… that was yesterday and today is today. From this point onward… the best way to call out some glaring hypocrisy is via political scrutiny.

Full disclosure: I’m a pacifist, who believes that intelligent, sane and selfless world rulers must become the rule and not the exception. Such leaders must respect one another, never engage in territorial pissing contests and always encourage their peoples to behave similarly.  From the top down, all members within these societies must understand that… in our world of plenty… there are sufficient resources to ensure that all law-abiding, able-bodied, industrious citizens become and remain psychologically, physically and fiscally fit. And for the record… the same must apply to the less fortunate… e.g., the aged, ailing and disabled. Wherever / whenever basic needs are met, one would expect warfare to become rare.

Of course, I’m also a pragmatist, who understands how my above paragraph likely describes an unattainable utopia. And… more to the point… that adjectives such as intelligent, sane and selfless rarely can be uttered in the same breath with _____________ (<— you insert the proper noun… i.e., the name of your chosen offensive king, prime minister, president, etc.).

Indeed, the leaders we actually get are frequently undereducated, unscrupulous, unbalanced and power-hungry. And let’s not forget to call out their hypocrisy, either.

So, WTF does any of this have to do with Memorial Day ’18? Well, I’ll flesh that out by inserting my chosen proper noun…the offensive, undereducated, unscrupulous, unbalanced, power-hungry HYPOCRITE Donald J. Trump!

During my formative years, my spot on parents both reminded me that, throughout life, I’d be judged by the company I keep. That inescapable truth applies to all… be you a pauper, president or anyone in between… inclusive of that emotional pauper / fake prez.

Since the birth of the United States… and onward… American warriors have defeated a slew of evil adversaries… inclusive of Klansmen and Nazis who were the forebearers of the very Klansmen and Nazis who have aided and abetted Trump’s rise to power… the very same, deplorable, white-robed and brown-shirted bastards he sucks up to and honors.

And… in honoring Klansmen and Nazis… he’s also dishonoring each and every American soldier who ever fought and died during the Civil War and WW-II.

Folks, in reality, on Memorial Day 2018, while addressing the Arlington Cemetery mourners, Donald J. Trump was spitting in the faces of the very patriots who had perished while toppling Jefferson Davis’ Confederacy and Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Germany.

At the very least… the fake prez MUST flat out denounce his Nazi and Klansmen pals AND return each and every 2016 campaign contribution they ever made AND… NEVER AGAIN… accept another penny from any of them.

At the very most… Donald J. Trump owes his heartfelt apology to each and every soldier who has ever perished in battle to preserve freedom… to protect and defend America… indeed the entire world… from the very hate and oppression both he and his scum of the earth Nazi / Klansmen pals embody.

Will Don Don Duds’ Duds? (One Quick Limerick #041)

Towards white supremacy, Don doth aspire,
His Klansman / Nazi base feels stoked, afire,
To coddle both sets of buds,
He’ll model both sets of duds?
‘Neath Don’s White Sheets he’ll don Brownshirt attire?

The so-called prez has a deplorable history of pandering to his hate mongering alt-right / white nationalist / Klansman / Nazi base. Even in the wake of the Charlottesville, Virginia bloodshed… vehicular manslaughter… where one of his goon pals deliberately plowed into a crowd of anti-racism protestors… murdering one woman and maiming dozens more… the soft on domestic terrorism, fake prez still categorized the sociopathic, bloodthirsty, deplorable alt-right vermin as “fine people”.

Ergo, it’d not be much of a stretch to consider the following (fortunately hypothetical) alternate timelines…

Had Donald Trump been “prez” during WW-II he would’ve been in bed with Adolf Hitler… had he been “prez” at a time leading up to America’s Civil War, he’d have sided with the vile slave owners… perhaps pissing off the northern states to the point of seceding from the United States.

Gold Star Mothers Christina Kuklin Skiles & Ghazala Khan

Early this a.m., I found a comment “buried” in my spam queue. I deem that a wrongful “death” because my obscure website would prove of little value to spammers, I’ve fact checked the comment and the emotional content tugs at the ol’ heartstrings.

Even though there’s mention of a Memorial Quilt, since there’s no link to a site to purchase it, I’m concluding there’s no financial gain angle involved.

Rather than burying this comment in a (now) nearly two-month-old posting, I’ve decided to feature Ms. Reneé A. Leon – Skiles as a guest blogger… provide her a forum for her heartfelt, patriotic, eloquently expressed sentiments… which now follow…

Memorial Quilt for the eternal Honor of all “Gold Star” Mothers: and all “Blue Star” Families. Quilt inspired by: Capt. Humayun Khan (fallen in Iraq, 2004) AND Charles Jackson Skiles, Jr., age 17 and Eugene Skiles, age 21, (both brothers fallen at Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941)

It happened in an Olympic/Election year. Our Gold Star Mother, Ghazala Kahn and her husband, Khizr Khan honored their son in front of the world. That love awakened my similar past. Through her, it becomes undeniable that the loss experienced by Gold Star family members transcend race, time and political preference (except for the very ignorant). The wounds of a Gold Star Mother and her family affect future generations of family members, as does the freedoms gained from the bravery and heroism of their sons and daughters, which each of us remaining enjoy daily. The life of my father, Emmett Lee Skiles was significantly shaped by the loss of his two brothers by age 15, and the following generations.

Of significant importance in my family history and experience is the FACT THAT my Grandmother, from Richmond, Missouri, a Gold Star Mother, back in 1941 did not see her name in print; she was only identified as Mrs. Charles J. Skiles. CHRISTINA ZUKLIN SKILES (1889-1984), mother of sons and heroes Charles J. Skiles, Jr. and Eugene Skiles, also from Richmond, Missouri. Back in those early days, THIS COUNTRY did not acknowledge women as high enough on the social experience scale to refer to them by name. Women were silenced back then and existed only under the name of men in fear. I’m giving her that recognition now. I’m releasing her from standing in the shadows and giving her her name back: she is CHRISTINA ZUKLIN SKILES, my Grandmother. Advancing forward, in contrast, because of Christina’s son’s service, our beloved Gold Star Mother, Ghazala Kahn stood on a stage with her husband to be acknowledged and included for our entire world to see. That is what freedom represents and what the sacrifices accomplish. That is why their sons and daughters fought and died; for OUR FREEDOMS.

So I designed and personally made this flag quilt as an everlasting symbol to Honor these two and all Gold Star Mothers and their families, with my special thanks to Ghazala Kahn, forever a symbol for me to understand what my Grandmother, Christina Zuklin Skiles would have felt in those early, raw days after her losses and all her future days, long before my birth. Christina Zuklin Skiles would not have been able to speak one word if her two deceased hero sons were displayed behind her, in photos, on a large stage like Ghazala Kahn. Grandma Skiles would have cried inside in silence, with no words able to be spoken.

Sincerely,
Reneé A. Leon – Skiles,
Daughter of Emmett Lee Skiles, US Army (younger brother of Charles J. Skiles, Jr. and Eugene Skiles)

My Addendum: If you fast-forward / freeze frame the above video at time index 2:41 and then look carefully (near the bottom of the middle column), you’ll spot the names of war heroes Charles J. Skiles, Jr. and Eugene Skiles.

99 Word Blog (#031) Martin Niemöller’s Warning

Nazi concentration camp survivor Martin Niemöller spoke of how German citizens’ apathy, fearfulness and foolishness had empowered and emboldened Hitler. My demographic substitutions, personalization and (perhaps) clairvoyance update Niemöller’s “First They Came” speech…

First… President Trump targeted Hispanic immigrants for deportation… but we said nothing because we’re not Hispanic immigrants…

Next… Trump singled out the LGBT community… but we said nothing because we’re not homosexuals, bisexuals or transgendered…

Then… Trump trained crosshairs on Muslims… but we said nothing because we’re not Muslims…

Then… President Trump targeted you and me… and there was nobody left to speak out for us…

99 Word Blog (#028) “Just Following Orders”

“JUST FOLLOWING ORDERS.”

That phrase fabricates the lamest, flimsiest excuse ever uttered by war criminals found up and down the military chain of command.

“Just” following scramble-brains Hitler’s orders unleashed the Holocaust… the slaughter of six million innocent Jewish people… bombed beyond recognition European real estate and infrastructure.

“Just” following sociopath GW Bush’s orders resulted in a latter-day Holocaust… one million innocent Muslims annihilated… and still counting. W’s trumped up war laid waste to Mesopotamia… the cradle of civilization.

What would happen if troops were “Just” following delusional Donald Trump’s mucked up orders? How many more millions would die?
